4. Evaluation Designs and Methodologies
There are different types of evaluations depending on the project phase and objective. 🔹 Types of Evaluation: Formative Evaluation: Done before or during implementation to improve design. Summative Evaluation: Done after the project to assess impact. Impact Evaluation: Measures long-term changes caused by the project. 🔹 Designs: Experimental (RCT): Randomly assign participants to treatment/control. Quasi-experimental: Use non-random methods but still compare groups. Non-experimental: Only measure one group, no comparison. 🔹 Example: In a job training program: RCT Design: Half the unemployed youth randomly receive training; compare employment rates after 6 months. Quasi: Compare trained youth in one city with untrained youth in another.
